Darby Allin may still be a few weeks away from returning to AEW, but a new update suggests there's at least a slight chance fans could see him sooner than expected.
After scaling Mount Everest and taking time off from wrestling, Allin was widely expected to return sometime in June to begin building toward AEW All In: Texas on July 12. During a recent Q&A, WrestleVotes stated, "He will be back on TV to push for All In, so I'd say a month or so."
However, Fightful Select added a minor wrinkle to that timeline on May 22, reporting that "it wasn't an impossibility" for Allin to appear at Double or Nothing on May 25 in Glendale, Arizona.
That doesn't confirm anything -- and by all indications, AEW is still leaning toward holding off his return until closer to All In. But the door isn't completely closed for a possible cameo, even if it's unlikely.
If Allin does return at Double or Nothing, it would likely be to restart his unfinished business with Jon Moxley, who is currently holding the AEW World Championship. Whether that confrontation kicks off now or in a few weeks remains to be seen.
