What comes around, apparently goes around.
A night after blowing a 5-run lead and losing in extra innings, the Quad Cities River Bandits rallied from a four-run deficit in the bottom of the ninth to score five runs in their final at-bat to pull out a remarkable 7-6 victory over the Dayton Dragons.
No. 9 batter Omar Hernandez - QC's eighth batter of the frame - singled through the left side of the infield with the bases loaded. With the ball bobbled a bit in left, both Carter Frederick and Bryan Gonzalez scooted around to score.
That gave the Bandits (22-12) their first walk-off victory since Hernandez came through for them back on April 12th in a 5-4, 11-inning High Class A Midwest League victory over Wisconsin.
QC's Wednesday win snapped a three-game losing streak and sent the Dragons to 12-23 after they topped QC 11-9 in 12 innings in the series opener on Tuesday.

All nine batters in QC's lineup reached base, with eight of them getting hits. Trevor Werner had the only hitless outing, but he walked twice from the No. 8 spot in the order and was integral in the ninth-inning rally.
For the second time in as many games, Erick Torres (3-for-5) homered for the River Bandits.
With the five ninth-inning hits, QC out-hit the Dragons 12-10. Hernandez (2-for-4, 3 RBIs) and Daniel Vazquez (2-for-4 with a run) also had multi-hit games along with Torres.
QC's rally started auspiciously when Vazquez's fly ball was dropped in right field to open the frame. Sam Kulasingam then singled to put runners at first and second before Callen Moss drove them in with a double down the rightfield line.
Frederick then singled home Moss to make it a 6-5 game.
After Carson Roccaforte struck out swinging for the first out, Dylan Simmons, the fourth Dragons pitcher in the contest, came on. Gonzalez greeted him with a single that left runners on the corners and Werner drew his second walk of the game to set the table for Hernandez, who ended things in dramatic, walk-off fashion.
The rally allowed the Bandits to battle back after trailing 4-0 in the second inning as Dayton got the better of QC starter Logan Martin, who gave up three earned runs on five hits as he walked two without striking out anyone in his two innings of work.
Nate Ackenhausen, Tyler Davis and A.J. Causey (W, 3-2) ate up the final seven innings of mound work, Causey hurling the final two shutout frames without giving up a hit.
Upcoming: The six-game series is scheduled to continue on Thursday at Modern Woodmen Park with a 6:30 p.m. first pitch. The Bandits have LHP Frank Mozzicato (1-0, 1.15 ERA) slated to start against Dayton RHP Luke Hayden (1-0, 1.86 ERA).
