Home Minister Anitha backs Pawan Kalyan in row over his complaints on Bhimavaram DSP

Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha backs Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan in the political uproar that generated after his complaint to the SP against Bhimavaram DSP Jayasurya, asking him to take action. In the wake of the allegations against the DSP, Pawan Kalyan directly spoke to the district SP on the phone and sought a report.

Responding to it, Home Minister Anitha made it clear and asked "What is wrong if the Deputy CM gives an order?" Pawan Kalyan personally inquired after several complaints were received about the behavior of DSP Jayasurya in the Bhimavaram Police Sub-Division. He sought a report from the SP on the allegations that the DSP was promoting poker camps, interfering in civil disputes, and using the names of some leaders for political purposes.

Pawan's intention is that no police officer should be involved in illegal activities. Ironically, complaints against DSP Jayasurya were mostly sent to the Deputy Chief Minister's office, but not to higher politice authorities or Home Minister. With this, Pawan Kalyan called the district SP and made it clear, "Send a full report on the facts."

Stating that it is the responsibility of the police to maintain law and order and enforce the law, Pawan Kalyan warned that it is not right to interfere in civil disputes. Similarly, he directed his office officials to inform the Home Minister and DGP about the allegations against the Bhimavaram DSP

Home Minister Anitha was questioned by reporters on this issue. She responded, "What is wrong with Deputy CM Pawan giving orders?" She wondered that "If there is coordination between ministers, why is one section of the media suffering? Why are some media sections facing problems that we don't have?"

"If it comes to my attention on issues related to other departments, I will inform the minister concerned. Similarly, Pawan Kalyan also brought the DSP matter to my attention", she said. "Every department in the government should work in cooperation with each other. It is not wrong for ministers to identify the problems within their jurisdiction and give appropriate suggestions", she added.

Moreover, she said that it is also the responsibility of the government to respond to public complaints. "We are all working in coordination. The administrative system is to bring a problem to the attention of another department if it comes to one department. It is not right to politicize this," Minister Anitha clarified. Pawan Kalyan's suggestions and the Home Minister's comments have led to a wide debate in political circles.
