Central government bodies owe close to Rs 25 cr as rental dues to ITDC

New Delhi, Dec 17 (UNI) Central government ministries and departments owe a huge sum as rental and licence fee dues to India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), a public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India.

These dues are to the tune of Rs 25 cr as on November 30, 2025.

As per the details furnished by the Culture and Tourism Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in the Lok Sabha, against a question regarding this, the highest dues is from HQ IDS under the Ministry of Home of Rs 12 Cr. The agency has been a tenant since September, 2019 at The Ashok Hotel New Delhi.

The department of Telecom (TDSAT) has more than Rs 4. 37 cr. as dues. TDSAT has been using the premises in Hotel Samrat in New Delhi since February, 2001.

The other defaulters include Directorate General of Vigilance (Rs 2.59 cr), Directorate General of Systems (Rs 1.67 Cr), the Department of Revenue Settlement (Rs 86 lakh); Authority of Advance Ruling - NCR Bench (Rs 67 lakh), SIT Finance (Rs 62 lakh); Defence Exhibition Organisation (Rs 7.87 lakh) among others.

ITDC's prime hotel assets have been proposed for disinvestment under the National Monetisation Pipeline (NMP) of NITI Aayog and the process has been pending for a very long time now.
