Two months left to ski Bridger Bowl

BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Though we're in the dead of winter, ski season is very much alive! Bridger Bowl spokeswoman Erin O'Connor says that despite a slow start, things really picked up around Christmas. "We got a lot of visitation over the holidays. We had a bit of a cold snap over Martin Luther King Day weekend, but it didn't set us back really." Bridger Bowl is home to Montana State's ski team, but you don't need to be a varsity athlete to enjoy this seasonal sport. O'Connor says skiers of all ability levels benefit from her team of instructors. "We have a great snow sports program. They teach people who are teeny-tinies to people who are 80 years old. And they've got clinics and beginner lessons, and even if you have skied for a really long time, there's always something that you can learn." O'Connor says newbies shouldn't forget sunscreen, as bluebird days -- those primo times on the hill with clear, sunny skies and fresh powder -- also bring potentially harmful rays. With a projected closing day of Sunday 13 April, there is less than two months to hit the slopes!
