Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Sunday claimed to have arrested nine drug peddlers from different areas of the town and seized 5.023 kg of ganja and Rs 1.44 lakh cash from their possession.Those arrested were Bade Lal Rawat of Siptan Road, Ravishankar alias JK of Padav, Dilshad of Takkarganj, Arvind Gautam of Pathak Ka Purwa, Rakesh Singh alias Gabbar of Rohkhurd Kalan, Arun Kumar of Bujhikalan, Vishwanath Pandey of Naziapur, Ramsewak of Kandhai, and Shubham of Amsauna. The action was part of district police drive-- "Operation Prahar". The police had sought public cooperation to end the menace and even issued a mobile number to receive inputs.
