Here are the player ratings of Plymouth Live's Argyle reporter Chris Errington from the Pilgrims' 2-0 defeat by Exeter City in the Devon derby at St James Park. You can give your marks too using our special widget further down this story.
Conor Hazard 4 - Has to take a large part of the blame for Exeter's first goal. The ball did take an unexpected deflection before it reached the goalkeeper as he came to the edge of the penalty area but he still had to do much better than only half clear it towards Reece Cole, who then slotted into what was an empty net.
Brendan Wiredu 4 - It was following one of his long throw-ins during the first half that Argyle had one of their only two shots on target as Lorent Tolaj had a low strike saved by Joe Whitworth.
Alex Mitchell 4 - Was substituted at half-time, with Tom Cleverley saying after the game: "He's going through some real personal issues with his family. It was my call to play him this evening after not training as much with the team."
Brendan Galloway 4 - The Zimbabwe international was selected ahead of Mathias Ross, who dropped to the bench, and played on the left of the Pilgrims' defensive trio, with Alex Mitchell moving inside one position.
Malachi Boateng 4 - Started in a midfield holding role as Argyle began the game in a 3-1-4-2 formation for the Devon derby before Tom Cleverley tweaked tactics a number of times during it with no discernible difference.
Joe Edwards 4 - What should have been a proud night for the captain as he made his 250th appearance for the Pilgrims turned out to be one of the low points of his six-plus years at the club.
Bradley Ibrahim 4 - The 20-year-old has shown glimpses of exciting potential but his form continues to be very up and down, like the rest of his team-mates, though, to be fair. Argyle needed him to be far more impactful in this match.
Jamie Paterson 4 - Tom Cleverley would have hoped the experience of the 33-year-old would have helped Argyle in the Devon derby battle but Paterson's first League One start of the season was an ineffectual one.
Matty Sorinola 4 - Returned to the team to play at left wing-back instead of Bali Mumba, perhaps because he is the better of the two when it comes to the defensive side of the role. He got into promising attacking positions a couple of times but the final ball was just not good enough.
Lorent Tolaj 4 - It was such a waste of an in-form striker for Tolaj to get so little quality service. It led to him dropping deeper and deeper in the second half to try to get on the ball. Had two rare scoring opportunities for Argyle during the game, but one shot was saved and another was blocked behind for a corner.
Bim Pepple 4 - Was chosen to lead the attack with Lorent Tolaj instead of Owen Oseni in what was just his third League One start of the season. The hope would have been for him to hold the ball up and bring Tolaj and his other team-mates into the build-up play but it did not work out that way.
SUBSTITUTES
Mathias Ross 4 - Was a straight swap for Alex Mitchell in the middle of Argyle's central defensive trio when he was sent on for the start of the second half.
Bali Mumba 4 - Had started every League One game this season until losing his place to Matty Sorinola for the Devon derby. Was sent on as a 61st minute substitute for Joe Edwards, soon after Exeter had gone 2-0 up.
Owen Dale 4 - Back in the matchday squad and was sent on for Brendan Wiredu in the 70th minute as Tom Cleverley tried to find an attacking spark for his side, but without success. Dale did at least have one very late chance for Argyle.
Owen Oseni - Replaced Bim Pepple in the 81st minute but by then the game was effectively already over with the Pilgrims showing no signs of staging a comeback.
Caleb Roberts - The midfielder will spend his 20th birthday today (Friday) reflecting on a brief appearance as an 81st minute substitute for Bradley Ibrahim.
Substitutes (not used): Luca Ashby-Hammond, Kornel Szucs.
