Fire officials are continuing to work on putting out over 1,000 hot spots caused by a brushfire that began four days ago in Northampton.
What caused the blaze in the Broad Brook Greenway and Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area is still unknown as of Monday, according to Sarah LaValley, assistant director for the Northampton Office of Planning and Sustainability, and an assessment has yet to be made regarding the impact of this fire to the land's habitat, trails or other infrastructure.
