A Michigan State Police trooper was shot and returned fire on the suspect after a traffic stop turned violent Friday evening.
According to a social media post by MSP's Second District, the trooper conducted a traffic stop on southbound M-10, at Wyoming Avenue, in Detroit, at 7:50 p.m.
During the stop, the trooper reported he had been shot and returned fire, striking the suspect.
The trooper was transported to Sinai Grace hospital. The suspect was killed in the incident, according to a WJBK-TV (Fox 2) report.
Authorities have not yet released additional information, including the identity of the suspect.
