The District Administration Ramban, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan, today launched the weeklong celebrations to commemorate the 150th anniversary of India's National Song, "Vande Mataram."
At the district headquarters, Deputy Commissioner along with SSP Arun Gupta, ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak, ACR Shokat Hayat Mattoo and other district officers, virtually participated in the National Level inaugural ceremony addressed by the Prime Minister at New Delhi.
Teachers, students, NCC cadets, Anganwadi workers and locals from different areas joined the celebrations with great zeal and collectively express their love and respect for the nation. Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan highlighted the historical significance of "Vande Mataram" penned by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee which served as a freedom mantra during India's struggle for independence.
He said that the weeklong celebration aims to rekindle patriotic spirit among citizens and inspire the younger generation to uphold the values of unity and nationalism. The participants across Ramban joined the nation in the collective recitation of the National Anthem, symbolizing harmony and national pride.
Similar events were held in all Sub-Divisions, Tehsils, Blocks, educational institutions and colleges across the district, featuring patriotic songs, cultural performances, debates and awareness activities to promote national integration and celebrate India's rich heritage. The weeklong commemoration will continue with various activities across the district to honour the timeless message of "Vande Mataram."
