Utah fans rejoice! The Utes have finally made good on a red zone possession on a 20-yard reception by Brant Kuithe courtesy of new Utah starter Brandon Rose.
The Rose to Kuithe connection capped off a two-and-a-half minute, six-play, 64-yard drive in which the Utes used a lot of quarterback and halfback runs to set up the pass game which despite some hiccups, rendered a successful outcome.
Rose, who has been the black sheep of Utah's quarterback room beat out true freshman Isaac Wilson over the team's two-week quarterback competition, and he has delivered the spark Utah has been searching for, at least up to this point in the game.
The touchdown which saw Rose find veteran tight end Brant Kuithe in the lower left corner of the north endzone marks a welcome change of pace for an offense that has struggled mightily in the red zone for the majority of the season, and Utah fans are surely hoping that it will signal a new norm moving forward.
