JCPenney simplifies bulk purchases with new ordering platform

US department store chain JCPenney has introduced a new ordering platform designed to simplify bulk order purchases for businesses and nonprofit organisations.

The company's existing and prospective bulk order customers will now have exclusive access to the retailer's extensive product catalogue, including home goods, footwear, school uniforms and apparel.

Operated by JCPenney's commercial solutions team, the new business-to-business website also ensures competitive pricing on premium merchandise to optimise business spending.

The order process requires registration to allow users to navigate the online catalogue while collaborating with the commercial solutions team to finalise their orders.

JCPenney business development vice-president Wendy Santana said: "Customers are our top priority at JCPenney, and we aim to create purchasing opportunities that meet their needs. Our business customers are no exception, and this new tool helps create an opportunity for us to be more accessible and efficient in our delivery of bulk order purchases.

"JCPenney has a long legacy of serving as a great partner in our communities and we are excited to continue building on that distinction as we grow our number of bulk order customers."

JCPenney also plans to introduce enhanced functionalities in the second quarter of 2025 to support online voucher purchasing programmes.

Historically available only in-store for agency partners assisting those in need within communities, this will allow the retailer to provide the services nationwide to all nonprofits and agencies regardless of location.

In January 2025, JCPenney linked with Aéropostale brand owner SPARC Group to establish a new entity, Catalyst Brands. This equity-only deal involves Simon Property Group, Brookfield Corporation, Authentic Brands Group and Shein as stakeholders in the joint venture.

Catalyst Brands consolidates the portfolios of SPARC Group's Aéropostale, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Lucky Brand and Nautica with JCPenney's in-house labels Stafford, Arizona and Liz Claiborne.

"JCPenney simplifies bulk purchases with new ordering platform " was originally created and published by Retail Insight Network, a GlobalData owned brand.
