College of Holy Cross junior outfielder CJ Egrie was named the Patriot League Player of the Year last week ahead of conference postseason play.
Egrie, a Holy Spirit High School graduate, was just the second player in Crusaders history to earn the honor. He backed up his laurels by helping Holy Cross win a three-game series over Lehigh to open the Patriot League Tournament.
Egrie singled and scored three runs in a 10-0 win over Lehigh. He went 2 for 4 with two runs and three RBIs in a 19-9 win to advance to the championship series. Holy Cross (29-23) will host Army in the best-of-three series beginning Saturday.
Egrie is hitting .324 (57 for 176) with 12 doubles, three triples, five homers, 65 runs, 26 RBIs and 34 stolen bases.
Josiah Ragsdale (St. Augustine Prep) singled and scored in Boston College's 8-3 win over UMass Lowell. He singled, stole three bases and scored in a 5-0 win over UMass Lowell.

Jackson Vanesko (St. Augustine) allowed one run and struck out one in four innings in relief and got the win for Bryant in a 9-4 victory over New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Jimmy Mantuano (St. Joseph) hit an RBI single and an RBI double and scored in Fairleigh Dickinson's 5-3 loss to Monmouth. In a 13-5 win over Wagner, Mantuano doubled twice and scored, and Hunter Ray (Lower Cape May Regional) went 3 for 5 with a grand slam and a two-run homer. In a 13-3 loss to Wagner, Ray hit a solo homer.
Jayden Shertel (Holy Spirit) allowed three runs and struck out three in three innings and got the win for Lamar in a 17-5 victory over Houston Christian.
Cole Campbell (Mainland Regional) had two hits, two runs and an RBI in NJIT's 10-9 loss to Bryant. He hit the go-ahead RBI triple, doubled and scored in a 7-6 win over Bryant. He doubled in a 9-4 loss to Bryant.
Brock Mercado (St. Joseph) had a double, a run and an RBI in UNC Asheville's 12-5 loss to East Tennessee State. He doubled and scored in a 21-5 loss to Charleston Southern.
In Old Dominion's 8-2 win over Virginia Commonwealth, Alex Hunt (St. Augustine) struck out two in a scoreless inning in relief to get the win, and Frankie Wright (Egg Harbor Township) struck out two in 1 1/3 scorelesss in relief. In a 9-6 win over James Madison, Wright got the last two outs for the save.
Ryan Weingartner (St. Augustine) hit a two-run single in Penn State's 7-5 win over Rutgers. He had two hits and two runs in an 11-7 win over Rutgers.
Kyle Neri (St. Augustine) went 2 for 4 with a triple, a run and two RBIs in Rider's 6-3 win over Canisius.
Trevor Cohen (Holy Spirit) singled twice and scored in Rutgers' 7-1 win over Rider. He went 3 for 5 with a double in a 7-5 loss to PSU. He hit an RBI double and scored twice in an 11-7 loss to PSU. He had a single and a double and scored twice in a 9-6 win over PSU.
Alec Sachais (Holy Spirit) allowed a run in two innings and got the save in Villanova's 7-5 win over St. John's. In a 6-3 loss to St. John's, JP Podgorski (St. Augustine) threw four shutout innings in relief and Sachais allowed an unearned run and struck out one in two innings.
Lukas Torres (Barnegat) singled and scored twice in Wagner's 20-4 win over FDU. In a 13-5 loss to FDU, William Grayson (Oakcrest) pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Jay Salsberry (Egg Harbor Township) singled twice and scored twice in Jefferson's 10-3 win over Felician in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Tournament game. He had two hits and an RBI in a 10-9 loss to Felician.
Evan Shoffler (Lower Cape May) singled twice and scored in Shippensburg's 6-5 loss to Seton Hill in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Tournament game.
In Neumann's 7-6 win over Centenary in the Atlantic East Tournament, Anthony Rakotz (Vineland) hit a two-run homer and Josh Finger (Vineland) drove in a run. In a 6-5 win over Immaculata, Rakotz singled and hit an RBI double.
Christian Elliott (Mainland) singled twice in Harford's 3-0 win over Florence-Darlington Tech.
