Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones apparently didn't learn from his failed contract negotiations with superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons.
During the offseason, Jones tried to lock Parsons up to a long-term contract extension. The only problem is he tried to do so without involving Parsons' agent David Mulugheta -- a development that proved to be problematic and likely led to the blockbuster trade that sent the Pro Bowl defensive end to the Green Bay Packers.
"Unfortunately I no longer want to be here," Parsons wrote on X back in August. "I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present. ... Up to [Aug. 1] the team has not had a single conversation with my agent about a contract. Not one demand has been made by my agent about money years or anything else.
"Still I stayed quiet but again after repeated shots at myself and all the narratives I have made a tough decision I no longer want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. My trade request has been submitted to Stephen Jones personally."

Now that the team is set to engage in another high-profile contract negotiation with star wide receiver George Pickens, who ranks third in the NFL in receiving yards (1,420), seventh in touchdowns (nine), and eighth in receptions (92), fans are worried Jones may get burned if he tries to play hardball again.
And after what Jones said during his Tuesday radio interview, fans have every right to be on edge.
"Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on if he'll be talking contract this offseason with WR George Pickens directly or with his agent, David Mulugheta: 'I don't know. We'll see how it goes. Probably both,'" The Athletic's Jon Machota reported.

Cowboys fans immediately took to social media to rip into Jones for his polarizing comments.
"Maybe let's do it with the agent this time pal," one fan wrote.
"He bet not talk to Pickens like you did Micah you betta talk to his agent stop the bs Jerry," another fan stated.
"OH LORD NOT THE SAME AGENT AS PARSONS 😆😆😆😆 BYE BYE PICKENS 😣😣😣😣😣," a third fan posted.
"How did that work out with Parsons when he left out the agent," one user replied.
"We running the Micah script back," another user remarked.
