The Bakersfield Police Department's Traffic Unit will conduct a DUI and driver's license checkpoint at an undisclosed location in the city between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday.
"The deterrent effect of DUI checkpoints is a proven resource in reducing the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug involved crashes," BPD said in a news release.
