Elvis and his Cadillacs - the King owned countless models of his favourite brand. The most prominent was certainly the pink 1955 Fleetwood. His actual last Caddy is now up for auction at Bonhams: a 1977 Seville that looks comparatively understated but is in top condition. Attention Elvis fans!
Elvis Presley's 1977 Cadillac Seville, a unique piece of rock and roll history, is being offered for auction by Bonhams Cars. This vehicle, which was driven by Elvis himself, is not just a car, but a symbol of the legendary lifestyle of the "King of Rock and Roll". The Cadillac, which was equipped by Fisher with a robust 5.7-litre V8 engine, is the last vehicle that Elvis is said to have bought before his untimely death in 1977.
Elvis chose the striking colour scheme of the vehicle himself and had it fitted with a CB radio to communicate with the guardhouse and kitchen at Graceland. The vehicle is verified by Graceland Authenticated LLC, and the original vehicle registration bears Elvis' name. Photos show him at the wheel of this Cadillac, which emphasises the iconic significance of this vehicle.
After Elvis' death, the Cadillac was transferred from his father Vernon Presley to Elvis' fiancée Ginger Alden. The vehicle later became part of the collection of Jimmy Velvet, founder of the Elvis Presley Museum, before being sold to collector Greg Page at an auction in Las Vegas in 1994 for $101,500 (approx. £78,500). The current owners acquired the Cadillac at an auction in Graceland in 2014 and generously donated it to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu for public display.
Now, for the first time in a decade, this special vehicle is being offered for auction. The auction will take place online at Bonhams Cars Online and will run from 4 to 25 November. The Cadillac is expected to significantly exceed its previous sale price. The auction offers collectors a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of music and cultural history as unique and unforgettable as Elvis himself.
