Firefighters battled a structural blaze in an Anza residence Wednesday.
The fire was first reported shortly before 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, according to a Riverside County Fire Department statement. Officials first received word of a single-family dwelling in the 59000 block of Gillman Road with light smoke emanating from the roof.
Crews were still in the process of extinguishing the flames in the attic as of 3 p.m. The department promised additional resources to the area in an update, noting that flames in a 100-square-foot vegetation patch had been mitigated.
RCFD spokesperson Tawny Castro told City News Service that no injuries had been reported as of 3:30 p.m., adding that the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
