A 'chilling' thriller that has viewers declaring it 'really satisfying' and 'fantastic' will be broadcast on Film4 tonight.
Released in 2022, The Menu is a thriller with a sharp edge of dark satire exploring class conflict and the pomposity of culinary culture. The cast features Ralph Fiennes and Anya Taylor-Joy alongside Nicholas Hoult and Hong Chau.
The plot follows Chef Julian Slowik (Ralph Fiennes) as he welcomes wealthy, privileged diners to his exclusive island eatery for a final feast that culminates in everyone's demise. Each course reveals the guests' shortcomings and duplicity, whilst Margot (Anya Taylor-Joy), an unexpected companion, survives by requesting a simple, delightful cheeseburger that rekindles the Chef's passion for cooking and wins his admiration.
The screenplay drew inspiration from writer Will Tracy's actual visit to an isolated Norwegian eatery, where he allegedly felt imprisoned by the ordeal.
The film has captivated audiences, with one viewer observing: "Really fun satisfying watching entitled rich people get their comeuppance from someone who got pushed way too far.", reports the Mirror.
