REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ gaming phone features liquid cooling, 80 watt wireless charging, and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 - Liliputing

As expected, REDMAGIC has introduced the first smartphone with a liquid cooling system designed to help squeeze a little extra performance out of the phone's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

Like other recent REDMAGIC devices, the REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ also has a fan for active cooling, liquid metal, and a vapor chamber. But it's the liquid cooling that really helps set the phone apart from anything else currently available, including the REDMAGIC 11 Pro which has most of the same features, but lacks the liquid and the pump the pipes it through the system.

Both new phones launched in China this week, where the REDMAGIC 11 Pro starts at 4,999 CNY ($700) and the REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ starts at 5,699 CNY ($800). The company is holding a global launch event on November 3, when international pricing and availability will be announced.

Entry-level configurations come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, but there are 16GB/512GB variants of both models available, while the REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ also comes with up to 24GB of memory and 1TB of storage.

The smartphones feature a 6.85 inch, 144 Hz display with a "1.5K" resolution. While that's the only official spec I've seen for the display resolution, a comparison table suggests the phone should have the same resolution as the previous-gen REDMAGIC 10 Pro, which means it should be a 2668 x 1216 pixel screen.

There are also a bunch of features designed to help gamers increase their response times, including a 3,000 Hz touch sampling rate (or 360 Hz for multi-touch), 520 Hz shoulder triggers, and a Red Core R4 co-processor that helps with things like game upscaling and touch response times.

The phones also have massive (by smartphone standards) batteries - the REDMAGIC 11 Pro has an 8,000 mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging, while the REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ has a 7500 mAh battery with support for 120W wired charging and 80W wireless charging.

Other features include LPDDR5T-10677 memory, UFS 4.1 storage, IPX8 water resistance, an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, and a 16MP under-glass front-facing camera, which means that there are no camera cut-outs in the screen (although image quality will likely be inferior to what you'd get from a normal selfie camera).

There are 3 built-in microphones plus a 3.5mm audio jack, multiple rear cameras (including a 50MP primary camera), and bodies that measure 163.8 x 76.5 x 8.9mm and weigh 230 grams. I imagine the reason the REDMAGIC 11 Pro+ has a smaller battery is because the company wanted to make it the same size and shape as the model that doesn't have a liquid cooling system.
