WASHINGTON (TNND) -- Actor George Clooney said that replacing former President Joe Biden with then-Vice President Kamala Harris was a "mistake" by the Democrats.
"I think the mistake with it being Kamala is she had to run against her own record," Clooney said during an interview with CBS News.
"It's very hard to do if the point of running is to say, 'I'm not that person'. It's hard to do and so she was given a very tough task."
"I think it was a mistake, quite honestly," he continued.
Aside from being an actor, Clooney is a major fundraiser for the Democratic Party. His remarks about Harris replacing Biden came after former first son Hunter Biden lashed out at him.
In a July interview with the YouTube Outlet Channel 5, Hunter accused Clooney of exaggerating the state of his father.
"What do you have to do with anything," he said in a statement, referencing Clooney. "Why do I have to listen to you?"
Hunter Biden blamed the crazy travel schedule and him taking the drug Ambien for his father's state near the end of his presidency, resulting in him dropping out of the 2024 presidential race.
"They give him Ambien to be able to sleep," Hunter said. "He gets up on the stage and he looks like he's a deer in the headlights."
