An engaging and creative art activity based on traditional Lippan art was conducted at Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28m Chandigarh, for the students of classes IV and V. The activity introduced students to the vibrant folk art of Gujarat and helped them explore their artistic talents while appreciating India's rich cultural heritage. For Class IV, the activity was titled 'Wall hanging using Lippan art'. Students used mirrors, clay, decorative beads, and colours to design beautiful wall hangings inspired by motifs and geometric patterns typical of Lippan art. They were guided by their art teacher, who explained the significance of the art traditionally used to decorate the walls of Kutch houses. The finished wall hangings added a delightful touch of ethnicity and imagination to the classroom walls. For Class V, a Lippan art coaster making competition was held. Each student designed an individual coaster using clay, mirrors, and natural colour tones, reflecting the earthy beauty of Lippan motifs. The winners were applauded for their outstanding work, and all participants received appreciation for their sincere efforts.
