BOYBAND Five took a night off from their nationwide tour to help giffgaff with the official launch of its new full fibre broadband in Chester.
The event saw resident and giffgaff member Tao Chang's home become one of the first in the country to be connected to the new network.
Five pressed the button on an incredible neon light display, illuminating the university lecturer's home, before the 44-year-old father of two was transported to his local pub, The Carlton Tavern.
The switch-on party saw the nineties boyband bring the house down with a live performance of their biggest anthems, including 'Keep on Movin'' and 'If When The Lights Go Out'.
The special event was inspired by research, commissioned by giffgaff, that revealed that over half (53 per cent) of Brits experience broadband issues at least twice a month, and over 340,000 in the North West alone miss out on gig tickets as a result.
The brand righted both wrongs by bringing its fast, reliable broadband and one of the hottest acts of the moment to Chester.

At the event, Chester residents were treated to 'bytes' to eat, drinks and two exclusive DJ sets from Chester-born DJ and Radio 6 presenter Nemone Metaxas, as around 100 lucky guests gathered to celebrate Chester becoming one of the first towns in the country to experience giffgaff's full fibre broadband.
