PETALING JAYA: Alfa Romeo is making its official return to Malaysia under independent distributor DLSB Partners Sdn Bhd, with the relaunch only the beginning as more brands are set to follow.
While Alfa Romeo sits within the Stellantis portfolio, the brand would not be directly managed by Stellantis Malaysia.
DLSB Partners executive director Datuk Douglas Cheng Heng Lee said the company aims to rebuild Alfa Romeo's presence in Malaysia with a long-term focus on customer experience.
"Our flagship showroom and 3S centre - Casa Alfa Romeo, located at TREC Kuala Lumpur - is the first step in this journey," he said at the relaunch ceremony.
"Opening in the coming month, it will be a home for Malaysian Alfa Romeo owners to connect, explore and revel in the brand."
Cheng said Alfa Romeo Malaysia would also expand beyond the Klang Valley into Penang and Johor.
"Alfa Romeo Malaysia will seek to expand its presence beyond Kuala Lumpur with service centres nationwide, ensuring that more Malaysians get to experience Alfa Romeo," he said, adding that DLSB plans to bring in other marques.
"Alfa Romeo is only the beginning for us, and we are on the cusp of introducing more exciting brands."
Alfa Romeo's Giulia Veloce and Stelvio Veloce, with an estimated price of RM400,000, has been opened for booking.
Made in Italy, both models were designed to deliver the full Alfa Romeo experience. Official pricing would be announced in January 2026.
Stellantis Asean managing director Isaac Yeo said the company's parts support infrastructure is already in place with a parts warehouse based in Malaysia.
"Hence, the ability to supply parts to fix any Alfa Romeo today is timely, within 48 hours.
"So, that actually gives a lot of confidence to a lot of our customers."
To support both new and long-time owners, Cheng said Alfa Romeo Malaysia would roll out the "Famiglia Alfa Romeo" programme, offering factory-certified technicians, genuine parts and roadside assistance.
The initiative also recognises the Alfa Romeo Owners Club, founded in 1993 and still active today.
Alfa Romeo first entered the Malaysian market in 1965 before pausing operations in 2013.
In 1969, the Malaysian-assembled Alfa Romeo Berlina became the first Alfa Romeo ever built in Asia.
The Royal Malaysian Police was also the first authority outside Italy to use Alfa Romeos, starting with the Giulia 1.3 and 1.6, followed by the Berlina and later the Alfetta sedan.
DLSB Partners is a member of Atlantis Motor Group, the sole importer of Peugeot and Leapmotor vehicles in Malaysia.
