A man has been charged over an alleged assault that has left another fighting for his life. The alleged victim, a 49-year-old man, suffered critical injuries outside the Golden Tiger in Hurstville, South Sydney , about 10pm on Friday.
Paramedics arrived at the scene shortly after to find the man with head injuries but in a stable condition. He was rushed to St George Hospital where he was placed into an induced coma. Police were told the man was a patron at the hotel and left to speak with a motorcyclist on the street about the vehicle's "noise level". It will be alleged the motorcyclist moved the vehicle before assaulting the man and riding away from scene. They are believed to not be known to one another. Following inquiries into the incident, detectives arrested a 34-year-old man at a home in Condell Park about 3.30pm on Saturday and taken to Bankstown Police Station. He was refused police bail on one charge of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm and is expected to appear before Bail Division Court on Sunday.
