The holiday park located on the edge of Sundown Adventureland near Retford has been named as the 'Best in Britain.' Wild Acre Village is a self-catering accommodation village on the edge of the theme park for the under tens, with each cabin providing a themed holiday experience.
The holiday park site has won two categories at the recent Hoseasons' Diamond Awards 2025, this included 'Best in Britain - Holiday Park' and 'Relax and Explore - Heart of England - Small Park'. The winners were chosen using a range of statistics and ratings from customers who shared their views after visiting.
Debs Griffin, director at Sundown Adventureland and responsible for managing Wild Acre Village, said of the recent awards: "When we opened the lodges, we knew there would be a demand for staying overnight at Sundown Adventureland but we never could've anticipated that three years on, we would be consistently fully booked with so many of our customers returning for repeat visits.
"Offering families a good value, very clean, comfortable and entertaining stay has been central to the success of Wild Acre Village, and our team works extremely hard to ensure every guest has a memorable stay, wants to keep coming back and laps up the magic and exciting nature of Sundown Adventureland."
The site opened in 2022 after visitors told Sundown Adventureland that they couldn't fit all their exploring in one day. The holiday village has dozens of self-catering lodges which can host up to ten guests.
Each lodge has a well-equipped kitchen, as well as a master bedroom with a king-sized bed and a children's triple bunk bedroom that sleeps three. Some lodges also have hot tubs to relax in after a long day, and others have been carefully designed for disabled guests.
Shaun Malvern, also a director at Sundown Adventureland, added: "The success of both Wild Acre Village and Sundown Adventureland in recent years has really put us on the map for families, with the lodges acting as a great base to explore Lincolnshire, South Yorkshire and the East Midlands.
"We truly believe we put families first and think of all their needs, which is why we opened Sundown's Crash Landings Bistro for overnight guests, serving dinner in the evening and cooked breakfasts in the morning."
