Margo Martindale Wraps Production on 'Dead Letters' With Cole Sprouse and Yalitza Aparicio

Production has wrapped on "Dead Letters," the debut feature film from writer-director David Drake which stars three-time Emmy winner Margo Martindale ("The Americans").

Martindale serves as executive producer on the film, which also stars Emmy nominee Stephen Root ("Barry"), Cole Sprouse ("Lisa Frankenstein"), Oscar nominee Yalitza Aparicio ("Roma"), Jefferson White ("Yellowstone") and honorary Oscar recipient Wes Studi ("The Last of the Mohicans").

Produced by Sam Bank and Hélène Sifre of Braintrust and Juliet Berman of Spiral Stairs Entertainment, "Dead Letters" is a portrait of an American long-haul truck driver who is forced to confront her past, present and future as she faces the potential parole of her daughter's murderer.

"When I was growing up, my dad drove a truck out of the Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx, and many of my earliest memories of work came from riding shotgun on his delivery round in the summer months," Drake said. "After high school, I started a family and spent years in menial jobs before finally zigzagging my way into filmmaking. In my writing and directing, I like to explore the lives of working-class characters, often directly drawn from my own experiences and my family background."

The film was packaged by Gersh, which is representing the domestic sale. Three Point Capital provided the loan on the New Mexico Tax Credit.

Martindale is represented by Gersh, Peikoff Mahan and Wolf Kasteler. Root is represented by Gersh and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Sprouse is represented by WME, Entertainment 360 and DLA Piper. Aparicio is represented by WME and Margrit Polak Management. White is represented by Gersh, Principal Entertainment and Lichter, Grossman, Nichols, Feldman, Rogal, Shikora & Clark. Studi is represented by Innovative Artists and Michael Black Management. Drake is represented by Gersh and Braintrust.
