The Respiratory Therapy Unit at Government Hospitals organised an awareness event at Al Waha Mall in Juffair to mark World Respiratory Care Week 2025.
It was aimed at promoting community awareness on the importance of respiratory health and highlighting the vital role of respiratory therapists, particularly in intensive care units.
The event featured a variety of educational and interactive booths designed to inform visitors about common respiratory diseases and prevention methods.
It also focused on raising awareness of the dangers of smoking and vaping and their harmful effects on the lungs and overall health.
A lung screening booth provided visitors with preliminary tests to assess lung function and emphasized the importance of early detection in maintaining respiratory wellbeing.
Dedicated sections were also set up to explain sleep apnea syndrome, including its symptoms, diagnosis, and treatment options.
