Tranmere Rovers bring festive cheer to young fans through Christmas party

A FOOTBALL club has brought festive cheer to young fans through an annual Christmas event.

Tranmere Rovers in the Community (TRIC) hosted a Christmas party at the Prenton Park Recreation Centre, welcoming children from youth clubs across the area as part of the Super White Christmas Appeal.

Attendees included youngsters from the Our Junior Kicks Group, Gautby Road Play, Youth and Community Centre, Equilibrium NW (Livingstone Street), and Birkenhead Youth Club.

Steve Williams, community manager for TRIC, said: "We have been hosting our annual Super White Christmas children's parties for around nine years now, and the team at Tranmere Rovers in the Community continue to feel the joy of spreading Christmas cheer.

"Seeing the children visit the club and experience such happiness truly warms everyone's hearts, and we hope these memories bring excitement to all throughout the festive period."

Children took part in football, indoor golf, and bowls, while catering was provided with support from the Cowshed Catering Team.

A special guest appearance from Santa Claus was arranged by the Heswall Round Table, and Tranmere's mascot Rover the Dog joined the festivities before heading pitch side.

Each child received a gift bag containing Tranmere Rovers merchandise, sweet treats, and a Tranmere Rovers training shirt.

The day concluded with a trip to the club's 3pm match against Crewe Alexandra, offering many children a rare opportunity to experience live football in a stadium.

TRIC has thanked all who attended and supported the event, including the Heswall Round Table and participating youth clubs.
