The Giants' 2025 schedule is out -- and, to say the absolute least, it's extremely tough.
How tough, exactly? It's the hardest in the NFL, based on last year's wins percentage. We only have them pegged for 4 and 5 games respectively.
So let's rank the Giants' 14 opponents from easiest to toughest. Here goes:
14. Saints (Week 5)
Coach Brian Daboll better get a win here. The QB-desperate Saints are going to be awful in 2025. Big Blue will be plenty battle-tested before this matchup, facing the Commanders, Cowboys, Chiefs and Chargers leading up to it.
13. Raiders (Week 17)
And that's it for games the Giants will likely be favored in. The new-look Raiders, led by veteran coach Pete Carroll, new QB Geno Smith and first-round RB Ashton Jeanty, are hardly a pushover anymore. They'll either give Big Blue a test or intentionally try to lose, given this game takes place in the season's penultimate week.
12. Patriots (Week 13)
Basically the same description applies to the Patriots. This ain't last year's club. Jerod Mayo is out, Mike Vrabel is in -- and he might lead an instant turnaround, given New England's easy schedule and bolstered roster. Look for Drake Maye and Co. to roll the Giants in Week 13.
11. Bears (Week 10)
Three revamped teams in a row. The Caleb Williams-Ben Johnson duo will prove to be a perfect marriage. The Bears are building a force around their young QB, too. This could have been a win last year. It'll be tough to come by this year.
10. Cowboys (Weeks 2, 18)
The fact that the Cowboys are the fifth worst team on this list goes to show how tough this schedule is. They're one of the most overrated teams entering the season, with a healthy Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens leading the offense and Micah Parsons and DeMarvion Overshown leading the D. They'll give the Giants all sorts of trouble in 2025.
9. 49ers (Week 9)
The same goes for the 49ers, who posted a terrible 6-11 record last year, but will be out for blood this time around. Can Brock Purdy and their stout defensive line lead them back to the postseason? The Giants may find out the hard way.
8. Broncos (Week 7)
The rest of the teams on this list went to the playoffs last year. That's how crazy this slate is. Can Bo Nix, who Joe Schoen passed on in the 2024 NFL Draft, make the Giants general manager look silly?
7. Chargers (Week 4)
The Chargers are the final boss in the Giants' "Murders' Row" first four weeks of the season. The determined Justin Herbert, who laid a dud in his playoff loss last year, will look to prove himself all season.
6. Vikings (Week 16)
J.J. McCarthy's revenge game! Schoen passed on him in the 2024 draft too, so look for him and Justin Jefferson to make the Giants secondary look foolish (that would probably be the outcome anyway, revenge factor or not).
5. Packers (Week 11)
Green Bay improved their wide receiver room this offseason, especially with the drafting of Matthew Golden last month. They'll be better next season.
4. Commanders (Weeks 1, 15)
Commanders GM Adam Peters -- whom the Giants could have had -- is building an excellent team around Jayden Daniels -- whom they could have had too, if not for Tommy DeVito's meaningless Cinderella run. Will he continue to ride the momentum from his magical rookie season?
3. Lions (Week 12)
These final three teams are juggernauts. A loss to the Dan Campbell-led Lions in Week 12 will be one of many humbling games this year.
2. Eagles (Weeks 6, 8)
Two games against the defending champs in a three-week span. Yikes.
