This was after Lobamba National and Mjingo high schools were officially crowned champions of the 2025 EFA/CAF African Schools Championships during a prize presentation staged at the Lobamba Technical Centre yesterday.
Lobamba National won 14 games out of 17 to earn first place in the tournament, bagging gold medals and 10 soccer balls. The runners-up, Elangeni Primary and Lobamba shared 44 points, but were differentiated using a goal difference of five.
In the female category, Mjingo High achieved gold medals and 10 soccer balls after winning 11 games of 13. Notably, they finished the campaign undefeated. Second- placed St.Mary's High won nine games, thus earning silver medals and seven soccer balls.
The ceremony was attended by Sport Portfolio Committee Chairman and Dvokodvweni Member of Parliament (MP) Sifiso Shabalala, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu and Technical Director (TD) Bhekisisa 'Bizzah' Mkhonta As well as schools representative in former Manzini Sea Birds gaffer Christian Thwala.
