A third arrest has been made after a night of violence shook Grangetown. A 32-year-old man has been detained by officers probing the string of incidents in Richmond Court and Sandringham Road, which included a shooting, a serious attack, an arson and a car being driven into a home on Thursday night.
The man is the third person to be arrested - after a 27-year-old man and a woman were taken into police custody on Friday.
Cleveland Police said in a statement: "As a result of the high visibility patrols we put in place, officers were able to act quickly last night, Friday, October 17, 2025, when a suspicious vehicle was sighted. This resulted in the arrest of the 32-year-old man, who currently remains in police custody."
Chief Superintendent Rachel Stockdale, Head of Local Policing, added: "The actions of our officers last night prevented further violence, disruption and harm in Grangetown. Using specialist police tactics, officers took pro-active action which led to the suspect being detained safely.

"Cleveland Police this morning continues to carry out extensive lines of enquiry in connection with the incidents which happened on Thursday evening. I am determined in our continued efforts to bring all those responsible to justice and prevent further harm to our communities, who quite frankly, do not deserve to live amongst those who cause fear, alarm and distress with their criminal acts".
The force has not yet revealed what the 32-year-old man has been arrested for. However, the 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm, arson, criminal damage, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. The woman was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.
