Get to know Lisa, an AI-powered digital assistant who says Jokowi is not a UGM alumnus - ExBulletin

JEJAKNARASI.ID, JAKARTA - Lean Intelligent Service Assistant (LISA), an AI digital assistant introduced by UGM University Services to provide quick and accurate responses to various public service requests.

Lisa's name attracted attention because it sounded like someone who recently went viral because of an alleged immoral video case.

Lisa has the ability to continually learn and expand her knowledge base as user engagement increases.

Apart from this, UGM University Services also carries the concept of an interactive virtual campus. Where various forms of services, including learning services, will be developed based on digital and AI. An indexed service directory also allows users to find information in a single portal.

This service system created by the Office of Digital Transformation (BTD) is designed as a one-stop online and offline service center that integrates various student needs, from academic services and student affairs to administration and personal development.

This measure was taken in response to the complex needs of more than 61,500 students currently active at UGM.

The UGM Chancellor said this service should be a comprehensive solution for the UGM community. "It is our effort to integrate services that provide solutions not only to students, but also to alumni, parents and the general public," he explained, as quoted by UGM official websiteSunday (07/12/2025).

Through this innovation, the Chancellor said, UGM is committed to strengthening responsive and inclusive services while strengthening UGM's position as a pioneering university in technology-enabled public service governance.

It is known that UGM's Lisa AI recently went viral after answering the question "Jokowi UGM Alumni". From the response Lisa revealed, she said Jokowi was not an alumnus of Gadjah Mada University.

Furthermore, Lisa also explained that Jokowi completed his higher education at the UGM Faculty of Forestry, but did not graduate from it.

In response to this, UGM spokesperson Dr. I Made Andi Arsana responded. Andi claimed that the information presented by Lisa about Joko Widodo seemed inconsistent.

"Lisa said that Joko Widodo was not a former student but also said that he had completed his studies at the UGM Faculty of Forestry. Here it can be seen that this second information refutes the first information," he said.

Inconsistencies can also be seen in reports that Joko Widodo did not graduate, although he previously completed his studies at UGM.

"The inconsistency of information presented by Lisa confirms that Lisa is not designed to answer questions about someone's graduation. Apart from that, it also confirms that Lisa is indeed studying to continue improving her abilities," he said. ***
