OAKDALE, Wis. -- The Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested an Illinois man after they said he possessed a large amount of drugs and attempted to drive away from deputies Saturday night.
Monroe County Sheriff's Office Captain Jeffrey Spencer said a sergeant saw a 2021 Audi traveling 100mph on I-94 west of Oakdale driven by 43-year-old Ivran D. Galmore man.
Galmore was stopped for the speeding violation and reportedly got back into the vehicle and drove away from officers. Spencer said the pursuit happened for over two miles before the vehicle crashed and the man ran from officers. A Monroe K-9 was deployed during the foot pursuit and the man was taken into custody.
Spencer said the crash caused injuries to the passenger of the vehicle who reportedly told authorities he forced the man to crash by grabbing the steering wheel as he did not want to be involved in the pursuit.
A search of the vehicle and area the man had run, uncovered about (8.5 pounds) of cocaine, and over 30 grams of marijuana.
After being taken to the hospital due to injuries sustained by the K-9, Galmore was taken to the Monroe County Jail where he is charged with possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia, fleeing an officer (causing bodily harm), 2nd degree reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and two separate counts of speeding.
