(WJAR) -- Law enforcement says a person of interest connected to the deadly shooting at Brown University was captured at a hotel in Coventry on Sunday morning.
The Providence Police Department confirmed to NBC 10's Mario Hilario that the person was apprehended at the Hampton Inn in Coventry.
An NBC 10 news crew observed numerous law enforcement cruisers at the Centre of New England Boulevard location.
Authorities held a news conference around 7:00 a.m. to confirm that a person of interest was in custody.
However, they purposely did not release many details.
Providence police chief Col. Oscar Perez says his department is still investigating and collecting evidence.
