Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend funeral services on Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at Christchurch Methodist in Market Square, St. Thomas. Viewing begins at 9 a.m. with service to follow at 10 a.m. Interment is at Western Cemetery No. 2.

Etel Albert Payne

Relatives and friends are advised of the passing of Etel Albert Payne on Dec. 17, 2025.

Born on March 9, 1953, Etel, also known as Gary, Fisherman and Uncle Huden, had a deep love for the ocean and mastered the art of fishing. He was also known for his abilities as a community farmer.

Etel Payne was preceded in death by his mother; Eleanora Smith; and brothers, Joshua Williams and Purcell Warner.

He is survived by his brother, Denfield Greenaway; sisters, Eunice Williams and Lorraine Smith; nephews, Joshua Williams, Kevin Williams, Shawn Williams, Anthony Christian, Sheldon Douglas, Christopher Greenaway, Dillion Greenaway, Alvern Trotman, Malvern Trotman, Shern Smith; nieces, Shenette Wade, Sharon Wade, Sharon Williams, Roma Browne, Arlene Guishard, Dr. Monique Guishard, Desiree Guishard, Denise Simon, Jezel Merritt, Juana Harvey, Merisha Greenway, Jakeria Snipes, Miriam Ward; and many generations of great nieces and nephews too many to mention.

We love him and will miss him dearly.

Lucita Beaupierre

With hearts full of love and gratitude, we announce the homegoing of Lucita Beaupierre, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2025, at the age of 83.

Funeral services celebrating her beautiful life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2025. Lovingly known as "Eta" and "Mimi," Lucita was born in Morne Jaune, the commonwealth of Dominica, and later made St. Thomas her home for many years. There, she built a life centered on faith, family, and quiet strength before eventually relocating to Tampa, Fla.

Through her work at Sapphire Condominiums and Wyndham Sugar Bay, Lucita was known for her diligence, kindness, and the gentle grace she extended to everyone she met. Lucita was the heart of her family, steady, nurturing, and deeply devoted. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved and took pride in the bonds she created across generations. Her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love will forever be etched into the lives of all who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Christopher Beaupierre; her mother, Janice George; her father, Ernest George; her brothers, Gabriel George, Bernard George, Lawrence George, Clifford George, James George; her sister, Lucy George; and her stepchildren, Maria Rodney, Felixia Beaupierre and James Lloyd Beaupierre.

Lucita leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted children, Colette Beaupierre-Huggins (Miller) and Jennifer Woodley (Sylvio); her stepchildren, Mona Anthanaz (Raphael), Janice Beaupierre, Agnes "Anice" Duncan, Judith "Adeline" Hogan (Grayson), Fenella McFadden (Tillman), and Angelina Graham (Aaron); her brother, Eddie George; her beloved granddaughter, Nicole Turner; her grandsons, Army Staff Sgt. Jessie Turner (Rose), J'Koi Gardner and Jameik Woodley; and her precious great-grandchildren, JeNai, Jace, Jade, Gabrielle, Cole, Nicholas, and Noah. She also leaves behind a loving circle of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends whose lives were touched by her presence.

Viewing will be held from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m., followed by funeral services at 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Dan Hurley Home for Funerals at 3192 Altona and Welgunst, St. Thomas, V.I. Interment will follow at Western Cemetery No. 1.
