Sana'a (Saba) - The first scientific symposium on liver transplantation was held in Sana'a, organized by the University of Science and Technology Hospital with the participation of a select group of consultants from Yemen and Egypt.
The symposium discussed six working papers. The first, presented by Dr. Rashid Al-Azzi, a consultant in liver and pancreas surgery and liver transplantation, addressed "What is Required to Start a Liver Transplantation Surgery Program in Yemen." The second paper, presented by Dr. Mohammed Al-Harib, a senior consultant in general and laparoscopic surgery, discussed "The Indications and Contraindications for Liver Transplantation from a Surgical Perspective."
