NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WJAR) -- Days after then-Tropical Storm Erin tore through the island of Cape Verde, one local organization is doing their part to help the victims.
The E. Lima Foundation is holding a fundraiser on Sunday at the Tremblay Bus Station at the intersection of Reynolds and Sawyer Street in New Bedford.
At least eight people have died and more than 1,500 on the island are homeless as a result of the storm, according to officials.
