New sidewalk projects, which town staff hope will make the community more walkable, may be coming to downtown Carthage.
Six years ago, Carthage approved plans with the North Carolina Department of Transportation to pursue an agreement to build sidewalks downtown; that agreement has now been finalized and the town is ready to move forward on the project, which could start next spring and be completed at the end of 2025.
