Minecraft Bedrock releases quick hotfix update to address game-breaking issues

Minecraft comes in two versions; Java Edition and the Bedrock Edition. The reason why the blocky game was split in two versions was mostly because of the hardware constraints during the release time. Back in 2011, devices such as consoles, mobile devices, etc., were not too powerful to run a full-scale computer game.

This is why Mojang Studios created the Bedrock version that could run on lower-powered devices. While it was a great move, one of the issues with making a game that can be run on PC, smartphones, consoles, tablets, etc., is that it becomes prone to many bugs and errors. And that is exactly what happened with Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

Thankfully, Mojang Studios have listened to the complaints of the players and finally released a hotfix that works on many glaring issues in the Bedrock Edition. Here's what the hotfix is about and how it improves the game.

If you come across any social media post about some errors or bugs in the game, it is very likely that the version being discussed is the Bedrock Edition. The issue is so prevalent that most players call it "bugrock" and that is a big problem.

For example, a common issue currently present in the game is how the Bedrock Edition slows down severely on PC for no apparent reason. Players have reported FPS as slow as 15-20. This makes the game unplayable. However, preventing this can be done by toggling the "Improved Input Response" setting.

The other problematic issue that many players have reported is the pink texture glitch. Sometimes, when playing multiplayer games on a server for a long time, the game's textures change completely to a pink overlay. Everything becomes pink and one can imagine how problematic this is especially in multiplayer modes.

Thankfully, Mojang Studios have released a hotfix that addresses both of these issues to improve the gameplay experience. The 1.21.123 release version improves the stability, performance, world-generation, and other technical issues that enables the game to run properly.

The hotfix is rolling out so many players might have to wait for some time before they receive it. While this update is about the game-breaking issues, there are still many problems with the Minecraft Bedrock Edition that will require more fixes in the future.

There are hundreds of other world-generation issues still present in the game such as structures spawning out of place. Players have shown how they came across villages embedded inside hills, shipwrecks on top of pillager towers, desert temples in the middle of the oceans, etc. However, the issue becomes more dangerous when these bugs severely affect the gameplay experience.

For example, one player realized that their hours of work turned into nothing when they found the End portal fused with a bugged nether portal that spawned out of nowhere. Finding strongholds is not an easy task and losing all the hardwork to a bug is very frustrating.

Bugs and errors are something that affect almost every game. However, the reason why the Minecraft Bedrock Edition problem is getting so much attention is not just because of the bugs but how the developers are treating them.

Since Minecraft Marketplace has become a big aspect of the Minecraft Bedrock Edition, many players feel that Mojang Studios is more focused on pushing players to visit their store and purchase add-ons, maps, etc.

While there is some great quality content on Marketplace, the developers should first work on making the game better before asking players to spend more money on it.

Perhaps Mojang Studios might release more bug-fixes in the future, especially before the release of the Mounts of Mayhem game drop. However, the game will require many bug-fixes before it becomes as good as the Java counterpart.
