(WFSB) - The offensive coordinator of the UConn football team has been hired by TCU to serve in the same role.
Sources confirmed to Channel 3's Erin Connolly that Gordon Sammis will be headed to the Horned Frogs.
Sammis was hired in 2024 as the Huskies' offensive coordinator and was a key part in the tremendous turnaround that the program has experienced over the last two seasons.
He had a hand in developing talent such as Skyler Bell and Joe Fagnano, who both have had amazing seasons with UConn. Bell was named as a finalist for the Biletnikoff Award this season, which is given out to the best wide receiver in the country.
TCU is coming off an 8-4 season. They will be playing No. 16 ranked USC in the Valero Alamo Bowl on December 30th.
It is unclear if Sammis will coach in UConn's bowl game against Army at Fenway Park later this month.
