Rams Receiver Demarcus Robinson Arrested On Suspicion Of DUI While Driving Over 100 MPH

Sunday night's game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Los Angeles Rams proved to be just the beginning of a disappointing day for the West Coast team.

The Jalen Hurts-led Eagles continue their winning streak, easily beating the Rams 37-20. Still, things got worse for wide receiver DeMarcus Robinson, who was arrested Monday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence.

According to TMZ, he was driving more than 100 mph on the highway, and when his white Dodge sedan was pulled over around 5 am Monday, he refused to do a field sobriety test.

But California Highway Patrol officers reportedly "observed objective signs and symptoms of alcohol impairment," so he was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor DUI.

He identified himself to the police by his full name and informed them he was an NFL player. However, he was still taken into custody and given a citation before he was released to a "responsible party."

Head coach Sean McVay spoke about Robinson's run-in with the authorities, stating that the reports are accurate and the team will let everything go through the proper legal channels as they continue to receive more information.

"We're gathering all the appropriate information," McVay told reporters Tuesday morning. "I'll let the legal process kind of take place. I do want to acknowledge that we were made aware of it. What you've seen out there is accurate. We'll proceed as we gather more information accordingly."

This isn't 30-year-old Robinson's first time getting reprimanded; several times while playing for Florida, he was suspended for failing drug tests for marijuana.

But since getting picked by the Cheifs in the 2016 draft, he's stayed out of trouble. Then, in 2022, he signed with the Las Vegas Raiders but only played two preseason games before getting released. From there, he played one season with the Baltimore Ravens, then eventually joined his current team, the Rams, on a one-year $5 million deal.
