TALLAHASSEE, FL (KCBD) - 12th-seeded Texas Tech took Game 1 of the Best of Three Super Regional 3-0 over 5th seeded Florida State in Tallahassee Thursday evening.
Nijaree Canady pitched a complete game two hitter with four strikeouts!
Tech scored a run in the first as Mihyia Davis scored on an error.
The Red Raiders added to it when Alana Johnson hit a solo home run in the 4th to make it 2-0.
Canady helped her own cause with a solo home run in the 7th.
Texas Tech now needs one more win to advance to the College World Series in Oklahoma City next week.
Game 2 is 2 p.m. Central Time Saturday with game 3 to follow if needed.
Texas Tech is in their first Super Regional ever while the Seminoles are in their 11th Super Regional in the last 12 years.
