An Alabama state prison officer was arrested Friday with 2 pounds of marijuana in his vehicle, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
Joshua Isaiah Joyner, 28, was arrested by Auburn police during an early-morning traffic stop, according to the Alabama Department of Corrections.
During a search of his vehicle, police found about 2 pounds of marijuana. A subsequent search of his home in Montgomery led to the confiscation of 4 more pounds of marijuana.
Joyner worked at Kilby Correctional Facility. His title was Correctional Officer Senior.
Prison spokeswoman Kelly Betts said he immediately resigned his ADOC position.
Joyner was booked into the Lee County Detention Center at 6:16 a.m. on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
ADOC officials said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could be filed against Joyner in Montgomery.
