MADISON, Wis. -- A single-vehicle crash late Friday night resulted in the deaths of all five people. According to the Dane County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred just after 11 p.m. on Range Trail, just north of Sunset Drive, in the Town of Verona.
According to the Sheriff's Office, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Range Trail when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to become fully engulfed in flames.
Emergency responders from the Dane County Sheriff's Office, Verona Police, and Verona Fire and EMS arrived on the scene, but were unable to save any of the occupants.
The identities of the victims will be released by the Dane County Medical Examiner's Office, once notifications have been made to their families.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation by the Sheriff's Office.
