ELYSBURG, PA -- Strap in, because we're about to take you on the ride of a lifetime. Introducing the Phoenix, which, earlier this year, was awarded the title of "Best Wooden Coaster" by the Golden Ticket Awards.
Standing 78 feet tall with a 72-foot drop, the coaster spans over 3,200 feet of track and reaches a speed of 45 mph.
Still rocking old-school buzz bar restraints (just a simple lap bar as opposed to a more complicated over the shoulder apparatus), it's a bucket-list ride for coaster fans and adrenaline junkies everywhere.
You'll find this legend at Knoebels Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pennsylvania. Originally built in Texas in 1947 as The Rocket, the coaster was dismantled, moved piece by piece to PA, and reborn in 1985 as the Phoenix.
