I have a tongue-in-cheek idea. Since the teachers are asking for $4 billion in raises and education improvements, why don't we institute a two per cent sales tax which will net the province $4 billion. Instead of calling it a sales tax we'll call it BTST, the Back to School Tax.

BRENT LEWIS

(We Albertans are extremely allergic to a PST, so don't be giving government any ideas.)

Can the media & political pundits please just shut up about a possible federal election if the fall 2025 budget to be presented by the Carney Liberals, fails to pass. Please just stop with the ridiculous speculation that the leaderless and rudderless federal NDP party is going to do anything but pass whatever the Carney Liberals push out in November (I am sure the Carney Liberals spent enough already to get those seven votes). Certainly, the federal NDP will pull a "Jagmeet" to get a few seconds of free national air time to pretend to be relevant and shake a fist and hope a mere second or two of air time will generate a Loonie or two in national donations. Let's be clear, there are only two federal political parties capable of governing, all the remainder are fringe or regional in their views and mandates, the federal NDP is no longer relevant and due to lack of funds will wither away in due course. There will be no federal fall election in 2025.
