France's annual inflation rate is expected to remain unchanged at 0.9% in November, matching the level recorded in October, according to preliminary estimates released on Friday by the national statistics office INSEE.
On a month-over-month basis, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is projected to dip by 0.1%, marking a slight decline heading into the final month of the year.
INSEE's breakdown shows mixed price trends across major categories.
Food prices are expected to rise 1.4% year-on-year, maintaining moderate upward pressure on household budgets. In contrast, energy prices are forecast to fall sharply by 4.6%, helping offset inflation in other sectors. Service prices are set to increase 2.2% annually, continuing their steady upward trajectory.
The Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) -- the indicator used for cross-country comparison within the European Union -- is estimated to rise 0.8% year-over-year, while slipping 0.2% month-over-month.
These preliminary figures suggest that France's inflation environment remains relatively subdued compared to other major European economies, with easing energy costs playing a key role in stabilizing price pressures.
