YMCA Fairthorne Group has issued a further update following the temporary closure of the nursery, which is located at the Centenary Quay development, after water damage was discovered on October 27.
While some repair work may be completed by the end of January, the nursery says it still does not have a confirmed timetable from FirstPort, the managing agent for the building.
Responding to the agent's statement to the Echo, which said repairs would be completed by the end of next month, YMCA says repeated requests for a detailed schedule of repairs have gone unanswered, making it impossible to plan with certainty.
The situation is further complicated by roofing works that are expected to continue into February and March.
The charity said in a statement it would be neither appropriate nor safe to reopen the nursery while construction remains ongoing, and parents have been warned the nursery is likely to be closed until April.
Vikki Kennesion, Director of Early Years at YMCA Fairthorne Group, said: "We understand how disruptive this situation has been for families and how eager everyone is for Woolston Nursery to reopen.
"However, we can only reopen once the building is fully safe and operational, and we have the necessary consent from Ofsted.
"As an Early Years provider, the safety and well-being of children and staff must always come first, and we will not reopen until those standards are fully met."

Even if the building is declared physically ready by the end of January, YMCA has stressed that reopening would not be immediate.
Once repairs are completed, Ofsted must be notified and a re-inspection carried out. This process typically takes between eight and 12 weeks.
Parents have been advised that the nursery plans to reopen on April 13.
YMCA says this allows sufficient time for repairs, safety checks and all required regulatory processes to be completed.
Crest Nicholson, the site's developer, is continuing to work closely with YMCA and has been praised for providing regular and detailed updates while efforts to resolve the issues continue.
