Jaipur: School education department is preparing to change the pattern for board exam papers this year, on the lines of analytical-based questions in exams of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The department is considering artificial intelligence (AI)-based changes and use of technological tools in preparation of the exam papers.A meeting in this regard was held Tuesday, chaired by secretary of school education, Krishna Kunal. "It will be ensured that the quality of state board question papers is further improved, making them competitive with private and CBSE schools. This will not only improve the quality of education but also develop a sense of seriousness and responsibility towards studies among students," said Kunal.The meeting discussed proposed AI-based changes to question papers for Classes 10 and 12 board exams, as well as for Classes 5 and 8 board exams, over the next three years. It was also decided that from now on, science subjects will be included in classes 3 to 5.In the meeting, officials discussed in detail the use of technological tools in the preparation of question papers. Officials are also considering making the language and structure of questions more thought-provoking and precise to elicit better and more analytical responses from students. The school secretary directed officials to ensure timely publication of model question papers, exam materials, and textbooks, as the new academic session 2026-27 begins on April 1.Board exam results for both Classes 10 and 12 of Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education (RBSE) this year improved compared to previous years, with Class 10 recording its highest pass percentage ever at 93.6%. RBSE officials said in May that the question papers are set to be changed on the pattern of CBSE exam papers. The question papers for the board exams in 2025 included short-answer type questions, very short answers, application-based questions, multiple choice questions, and option-based questions.
