Former Browns star Bernie Kosar recently received a liver transplant. Kosar announced a while back that he was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and Parkinson's disease. Before the transplant, Kosar had been hospitalised with internal bleeding. The 61-year-old underwent multiple procedures and eventually a transplant to stop internal bleeding. And now a woman has opened up to the media about her organ donor son, who may have helped save Kosar! A grieving mother reached out to a news portal and urged more people to donate organs as she recalled the choice her family made to help Browns legend Bernie Kosar. The woman whose name is Kim Kane said in her interview that her son, Bryce Dunlap, suffered a medical emergency and was taken to the hospital on November 9. By the weekend, doctors informed the family that Dunlap would not recover. She explained that during a meeting with a few medical officials, she was asked whether anyone in the family was waiting for a transplant. She said no, but she and her ex-husband requested that the donation be directed to Bernie Kosar. Although the family wasn't given many specifics, they were told Bryce was a match. Just a few hours later, they learned that Kosar had undergone a liver transplant.Kim Kane said, "Bernie Kosar does wonderful things. Bryce couldn't be the celebrity that Bernie Kosar was, but he's gonna live vicariously through him so Bernie can continue to do wonderful things."Kane added, "When he renewed his driver's license, he asked me about being an organ donor, and I told him, he should. He wanted to help others, so he decided to become an organ donor. He now has helped others live."Kosar posted on his social media account on Wednesday that he is continuing to recover in the hospital, and he wants to thank the donor who gave him the liver.Kosar said, "And, I will be there for them and that family. I can't love, thank, and appreciate them enough."Kane also said that people have been making donations to help her family with medical bills and have shared love on social media. She said, "Everybody's show of love and support is, I think, what's keeping me grounded. I'm so grateful."
